Acute Rehabilitation at Penn Medicine Hospitals

Our expert occupational, physical and speech therapists care for patients at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania,Pennsylvania Hospital and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, including the hospitals’ two skilled/subacute rehabilitation facilities. They are often the first contact with rehabilitation services for patients and their families.

Upon discharge, patients needing further care have access to a range of physical, occupational and speech therapy services available from Good Shepherd Partners. Whether they need long-term careinpatient rehabilitation or outpatient therapy, patients can expect the same quality therapy and rehabilitative care that they received while hospitalized.

Our occupational, physical and speech therapists work closely with a patient’s medical team including the doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, to determine the most effective rehabilitation plan that will help the patient regain function. Therapists provide a range of specialized therapies based on the needs of the patient and physician. They evaluate patients and provide post acute-care recommendations for further rehabilitation.
