Good Shepherd Penn Partners Safety Precautions at All Sites

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn Therapy & Fitness University City, Cherry Hill and Radnor sites remained open to provide in-person care patients when deemed medically necessary. These sites also quickly transitioned to offer telehealth services to patients.

As states throughout the country have started to relax stay-at-home restrictions, Good Shepherd Penn Partners has been steadily working behind the scenes to develop a phased approach to re-open all outpatient clinics to in-person care. We recognize the uncertainty our patients may feel to initiate or resume therapy, and we want to assure you that patient and employee safety is our utmost priority.  The following protocols have been implemented to help ensure patient safety:

  • All patients and employees are screened prior to arrival.
  • All patients and employees are thermal scanned at the door.
  • Patients wear masks.
  • Providers wear masks, face shields and gloves.
  • Strict handwashing/sanitizing is enforced
  • Patient arrivals are staggered and changes to the physical layout within our facilities have been made to promote physical distancing
  • Deep cleaning procedures have been enhanced

Noticeable Changes to Location Space

Good Shepherd Penn Partners’ outpatient team has made changes to the physical layout of the space, the check-in process and scheduling time frames to accommodate in-person care. The number of waiting room chairs has been reduced to keep a safe distance between patients. Patient arrival times are staggered to minimize the number of patients in the waiting room and the clinic at the same time.

Our outpatient staff has ample personal protective equipment (PPE) and our furniture and equipment is properly sanitized. Treatment tables have been relocated and we are installing Plexiglas barriers where needed.

Patients Satisfied with In-Person Safety, Care

Since implementing these protective measures, the outpouring of patient satisfaction has been extremely positive. While the success of telehealth physical therapy has been great, the need to apply therapeutic hands-on care to appropriate patients remains. Patients who have resumed in-person care express high satisfaction with the level of safety and enforcement of healthy protocols that are in place.

We hope this information provides reassurance that in-person therapy is safe at GSPP Penn Therapy & Fitness. Our comprehensive safety plan has created a safe and supportive environment for our patients and our staff to put the “physical” back in therapy.

In-person visits are available at Good Shepherd Penn Partners for physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Request your in-person appointment online or call 877.969.7352.
